Beat the Arizona heat and stroll through a splash pad and pray pad during the hot summer.
There are lots of local pools and splash pads throughout the East Valley. Many are in or near parks where you can make an afternoon or even a day of it by taking advantage of picnic ramadas, swimming pools and sports courts.
Here's where your kids and you can splash it up this summer.
SPLASH PADS:
Splash pads at these parks are open sunrise to 8pm, as long as it’s hotter than 70 degrees. Find details at scottsdaleaz.gov/parks/find-a-park.
Altadena Park
The spacious splash pad includes some animal-themed sprayers and some fun fountains to get your kids nice, cool, and wet.

Chestnutt Park
Located just a few miles east of Scottsdale Fashion Square, this is a simple option with some space to hose off and cool down before jumping back on the playsets.

Florence Ely Nelson Desert Park
Between North Scottsdale on the way to Cave Creek is a beautiful nature trail and a small splash pad that’s a great option to get in an early walk and spot to cool off with the kids

Fountain Hills Splash Pads
Located within the large and beautiful Fountain Park likes the Rotary Centennial Splash Park that includes a water tower and some spray hoses.

Paiute Park
This residential splash pad includes spray rings, some spouts, a fountain, a faucet, and spray poles just south of Downtown Scottsdale.

Phoenix Zoo
This Phoenix Zoo has splash pads for small and big kids too, from the Enchanted Forest to the Leapin’ Lagoon, to the Yakulla Caverns, there’s something to delight every family member.

Near the Scottsdale Greenbelt and sandwiched between some beautiful lakes and greenery is a splash pad at Vista Del Camino Park that includes a whale fin spray, spraying fountains, spray rings, and more.
