By Sponsored Content July 21, 2024

Animals at the Phoenix Zoo enjoyed more than 10 tons of snow and ice treats courtesy of SRP's Summer of Savings as well as a $10 off Zoo admission discount!

Animals including tortoises, Chutti the greater one-horned rhino, Indu the Asian elephant, African painted dogs, cheetahs, leopards, tigers, primates and more enjoyed either snow or ice treats as a way to cool down! Ice treats vary per animal/species and range from frozen fish-sicles for the tiger, blood-sicles for the African painted dogs, hollowed out watermelon stuffed with meat for the leopard and hyenas, a 20-gallon ice treat with electrolyte flavored drink mixed with frozen fruit such as lemons, oranges, yams, eggplants and watermelon for Indu the Asian elephant, orangutans received frozen electrolyte drink mix with apples, cucumbers, grapes, peanuts and more hidden inside!

It wasn't just the animals who enjoyed a cool treat - Mr. Softee's ice cream truck was on Zoo grounds all morning and out front of the Zoo serving up delicious soft serve ice cream compliments of SRP.
