The 2023 holiday festivities kick-off with Family Day, an exciting way to kick off the season starting Saturday October 14th and November 18th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The morning event is a family-oriented open house geared toward families with children aged 5 and under, though it's fun for all ages. While strolling the sanctuary, posted tour guides will be with each animal to help tell their stories and answer any questions you may have. Southwest Wildlife recommends an hour and a half to explore everything the sanctuary has to offer.

For those who can’t make it in person, Southwest Wildlife has virtual events available – that can be enjoyed from the convenience of a computer. The Virtual Speaker Series will begin on October 19th from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Hosted via Zoom, these virtual webinars will feature a two- hour presentation from Arizona Game and Fish biologists Jeff Meyers and Cheyenne Towne followed by a Q&A session. Local organizations and wildlife professionals will discuss our fascinating local wildlife and conservation efforts aimed to save them for future generations.

Then get ready for the spooky season and make some special family memories at the Happy Howl-o-ween Celebration. This event will be held on October 27th and 28th from 5:00-7:00 PM. Guests will trick-or-treat themselves to a self-guided tour of the sanctuary and enjoy family-friendly activities, including: A Wild Scavenger Hunt, Pumpkin Patch for kids 12 and under, Carnival Games, and Family Photo Opportunities. Little ones are sure to have a blast while strutting in their spooktacular Halloween costumes.

Whether you’re an Arizona resident or visiting from out of town, Walk with Wildlife Tours are available at our sanctuary until the end of the year. This opportunity will also be open during Thanksgiving Day on November 23rd from 10:00 AM to noon. Our two-hour guided tours allow you to get a close-up view of some of our permanent sanctuary animals as guides share their compelling stories.

Enjoy the marvelous Arizona moon and local wildlife during Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center Full Moon Tour on November 27th and December 26th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Guests will have the chance to see what our native wildlife is up to in the mysterious hours of the night. If you're lucky, you might even hear a serenade from the Mexican gray wolves or the tiny howl of the grasshopper mouse. After the tour, watch the full moon rise while enjoying a selection of light refreshments.
