Phoenix Ballet presents Slawomir Wozniak's The Nutcracker this December 10th through 23rd at the gorgeous, historic Orpheum Theatre in downtown Phoenix.

The Nutcracker is one of the most iconic ballets and holiday productions of our time. Phoenix Ballet brings its unique style to the show, while maintaining its rich traditional history and story. Artistic Director Slawomir Wozniak choreographed his version to highlight the magic of the season by utilizing professional dancers and students to bring this story to life. Audience members will see all the famous scenes set to Tchaikovsky's melodic score with lush costumes, beautiful sets and rich scenes that include a snowfall on stage, dancing mice, the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Waltz of the Flowers.

What makes Phoenix Ballet’s production unique and extra magical is the fact that audiences will see top students from internationally-ranked fourth best ballet school in the world, Master Ballet Academy (MBA), perform featured roles and dancing very skilled parts in a technical, professional manner you can’t see anywhere else in Arizona. The role of Clara (the main character in this story) is danced by young students on pointe performing leaps, jumps and spins with talent that competes with adults at professional companies. It’s truly a sight to cherish.

"The Nutcracker is a holiday tradition that I am honored to share with Arizona audiences. Our school, Master Ballet Academy, is a huge part of my Nutcracker and you’ll see very young students dance large parts.  It’s something like nowhere else, the technical and artistic skill the young dancers bring that even the highest level of expectations regarding performing will be satisfied," states Slawomir Wozniak, Artistic Director.
