Why you should visit the Meliá Caribe Beach Resort

Why visit the Dominican Republic? Holidays here are unlike anywhere else in the world. A country where chefs dance, cleaners sing, and very often you can hear ‘mañana,’ putting off everything until later, it is one of the ideal places to escape from the hustle and bustle and dive into the Caribbean Sea of Meliá Caribe Beach Resort.

There are many reasons to spend vacation in the Dominican Republic, but this is another good reason to read our TOP-10 reasons to visit Meliá Caribe Beach Resort, that I have collected for you!

1. The Resort

I'd just landed in the Dominica Republic, Punta Cana, for my first time traveling here. A girls' trip with more than 30+ of my sister Macaroni KID publishers joining me for a few days away in the Caribbean of Meliá Caribe Beach Resort

Meliá Caribe Beach Resort, located on the Caribbean coast of Punta Cana is an all-inclusive experience that is exceptionally family-friendly, with all the amenities you need. The Meliá Punta Cana Resort complex is located about 25 miles from Punta Cana airport and 55 miles from LaRomana airport. It sits right on Bavaro beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on the Caribbean side of the island boasting 25 miles of white, fine sand, uncountable palm trees, crystal clear blue water, and 1600 feet of the beach is exclusively reserved for hotel guests. The Meliá Caribe, with its five star service, is perfect for families with children of all ages, multi generational family groups, and celebrations of important life events, birthdays, and anniversaries.

2. Guest Rooms

Guest rooms at Meliá Caribe Beach Resorthave pool or garden views and terraces, as well as sitting areas, coffee makers, and free minibars stocked with soda, water, and beer.

Deluxe Rooms are set within the resort’s tropical gardens and have two adjoining rooms with a king-size bed or two single beds. This is a great choice for a larger family or multi-generations traveling together.

The Premium Junior Suite has a master bedroom with a king-size bed, a sofa bed and a kitchenette and dining area.

The Family Room Beachside has two single beds or one king-size bed, two bunk beds and a sofa bed and garden views.

Meliá Caribe Beach Punta Cana is wheelchair accessible.

3. The Gardens

The gardens at the Meliá Caribe Tropical are simply breathtaking! Everywhere you turn, you see flamingos, peacocks, and tropical flowers with all the colors of the rainbow.

The Meliá Caribe Tropical Resort is technically one large resort complex of over 1000 guest rooms. The property is divided into two sections: Meliá Caribe and the Meliá Tropical. For the most part, guests can use all the facilities on either side of the resort, but most of the children and family areas are located on the Meliá Caribe side of the property.

4. Family Activities

The beach at Meliá Caribe Beach is one of the best in the area. There’s a long wide stretch of soft, white sand with palm trees, sun loungers and umbrellas, all set against the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Guests can use kayaks and paddleboards for free. Join other guests in a game of water volleyball. Splash Island Water Park is another spot for families to slide and splash.

There are beach parties and nightly family-friendly shows. The lobby DJ is a fun spot for kids to dance the evening away. Bicycles are available for guests to use.

5. Excellent Cuisine and Delicious Fruits

The Dominican Republic is an island state where all year round there is a “season” for delicious exotic fruits. Meliá Caribe Beach provided this and more: mango, papaya, pineapple, lychee, pitahaya, passion fruit, sapote, guanabana, and many others.

There are 6 restaurants (including 2 buffets + 1 private The Level restaurant) and access to 6 more restaurants at Meliá Caribe Beach.

6. Excellent Bar Service and Drinks

Dominican rum is usually served with ice or in cocktails. More than a dozen varieties are produced here, the most famous brands being Bermudez, Brugal, and Barcelo.

7. The Most Natural Cocoa and Chocolate

The Dominican Republic is famous for its coffee and cocoa. So all chocolate fans should visit the Chocolate Experience at Meliá Caribe Beach Resort! We spent an hour with representatives as they talked us through the entire chocolate-making process and were able to try the cacao seeds straight from the cacao pod. Dominican Republic is currently one of the chief producers of organic cocoa in the world, which is considered by some experts to be the best antioxidant food. Try it in the lobby!

8. Safe Beaches

Meliá Caribe Beach offers sandy beaches with palm trees leaning over, a crystal clear sea, and only in the Dominican Republic you can see 50 shades of azure of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.

9. The Pools

Meliá Caribe Beach Punta Cana has six swimming pools. Two of the pools are exclusively for The Level guests. The large main pool has a freeform design, sun loungers, and umbrellas. You could also lounge by the pool and take advantage of the convenience of the swim-up bar. Beverage service can be had at the beach as well.

10. Off Resort Excursion

We ventured on a private catamaran with Bebe Catamaran Punta Cana, which took us along the Punta Cana coastline with splendid views of white sand and swaying palm trees. The excursion included a stop at a beautiful reef where we had the option to snorkel before heading to a natural swimming pool off the shoreline.

Included:

  • Free shuttle service to and from boat.
  • Free snorkeling gear.
  • Free drinks.
  • Free snacks.
  • Daily trips morning and afternoon.

Reconnecting with my Macaroni KID Friends

Every year publishers gather from around the United States for Meetup and/or Silver Daisy Boondoggle trips, but due to the pandemic we have not had the opportunity to gather. For the past year, we have emailed, texted, and zoomed almost daily, if not multiple times a day with many of these friends, but seeing their faces in person and having the chance to hug them made me realize how much I have missed It.

We took this amazing opportunity for a few days away from our families to experience Meliá Caribe Beach Resort so we can unwind and relax. Basically have a LOT of fun with some of my closest friends. We pampered our bodies, mind and soul and soaked up the relaxing ambience.

Conclusion

The Dominican Republic, Meliá Caribe Beach is one of the most popular resorts today. Tourists come here all year round. Excursions in the Dominican Republic are varied, interesting, and bright. Meliá Caribe Beach provides more than enough opportunities to spend your leisure time and get a lot of positive emotions! As you see, there are a lot of reasons why you should definitely visit Meliá Caribe Beach!
