Apple Annie’s Orchard in Wilcox, AZ is a charming family farm with some of the best tree-ripened apples in Arizona, but that’s not all — a pumpkin patch, sunflower field, country store, and the state’s largest corn maze promise endless fun.

Apple Annie’s Orchard is approximately 1 ½ hours away from Tucson and about a 3-hour drive from Scottsdale, AZ.  A visit to Apple Annie’s can be a fun day trip or weekend trip for families, especially those with younger children. During the month of October, not only can you take a hayride to pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, but you can also check out the corn maze and so much more family fun.

The Pumpkin Patch at Apple Annie’s Orchard

Pumpkins are important part of fall and journeying into a pick-your own pumpkin has become a family tradition for us and enjoy coming to Apple Annie's every year. The pumpkin patch itself has pumpkins of different sizes. We skipped the hayride and decided to walk to the pumpkin patch where we found the biggest selection of pumpkins growing on the vine! We found endless rows of beautiful pumpkins, from mini pumpkins to extra-large! The kids enjoyed picking the right one for each and we can't wait to decorate or carve them.

Hayrides to the Pumpkin Patch

You can take the wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch and get a mini tour of the beautiful farm with the surrounding scenery of mountains.

It would not be fall without a trip through the largest corn maze in Arizona

We grabbed a passport and took the corn maze challenge as a family. We challenged ourselves with "Your Movies/Music/TV Passport, a 10-question per topic and 10-corresponding signs located throughout the maze. We answered the questions as we came upon the number in the corn maze. If we answered the questions correctly, we would either hear right or left to look for the next challenge question till we found our way out. Several options of levels to choose from.

Arizona Some Helpful Hints and Tips:

  • The maze path is packed down dirt, so its highly recommended to wear closed tow shoes but not required.
  • Use the bathroom before entering the corn maze! You never know how long it can take you to get out.
  • Bring water through the maze as the weather changes and could get hot as you find your way through.
  • Strollers and wagons are welcome.
  • The maze is open DAILY!

Sunflower Fields

You will find rows of beautiful sunflower fields. The sunflower fields include several different sunflower varieties and colors to pick your own and take home and enjoy.
