Famous 48, the gem in the northeast corner of the SHOPS Gainey Village, 8989 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ, announces the reopening of its doors this Fri., Sept. 18, with a new menu and a refreshed look after being closed for five months due to COVID-19.
Famous 48’s new décor honors Arizona with a palette of familiar colors borrowed from those adobe-pink sunsets and pale brown dusty roads, famous to the Sonoran Desert. Traditional fresh local ingredients, tastes and flavors made famous by Arizona’s farmers, ranchers, brewers and chefs come together in a cozy, comfortable neighborhood tavern.
Famous 48’s new menu features classic American and Arizona favorites, crafted with an artisanal approach. Famous Arizona starters include Skillet Cornbread, Four Peaks Nachos and Southwest Egg Rolls. Salads feature the PHX Caesar and a Scottsdale Chopped, among others. Sandwiches include the Famous Burger, an AZ Veggie Burger, a Western Prime Dip and, of course, a Havasu Hot crispy fried chicken sandwich. Entrees include the FLW Filet, the Route 66 Ribeye, a Border Bowl, Grilled Salmon, and a Kingman Chop, not to mention a Southern Fried or Havasu Hot Chicken all prepared with the highest quality, freshest ingredients available. Fans of Arizona comfort food will especially enjoy this tasty new menu.

The 4,500 square-foot interior is styled with leather horseshoe booths and banquettes, and wood high tops with black leather bar stools for maximum comfort. The full-service indoor/outdoor bar features a beautiful walnut countertop and patterned tiles. The restaurant displays art pieces reminiscent of Arizona’s famous landmarks and historic figures. Reminders of the Arizona landscapes -- mountains and valleys, plateaus, narrow canyons, long stretches of desert and brilliantly colored rocks and clays -- will be present in the interiors and extensive patio.
QwDinner will be served seven days a week with Happy Hour Monday-Friday, 3-6pm. Famous 48 hours of operation are 3pm-10pm Sunday-Thursday; 3pm-11pm Friday-Saturday.
