Get ready to experience a different Science Center with the introduction of our new unforgettable small-group Guided Experiences!

Created with your safety in mind, each immersive experience offers YOU the opportunity to engage with science and enjoy our exhibits like never before. Every step of your one-of-a-kind, all-inclusive Guided Experience has been carefully planned to spark curiosity and engage your imagination while allowing for safe social distancing.

Science is Essential

As Science Center supporters, you know the importance of science in everyday life. Its influence spans food, energy, medicine, transportation, and more. At this extraordinary moment in time, the need for science is even more important and essential to the health of everyone in our community. Since temporarily closing our doors in March, we have been studying the science, following the data, and continually consulting experts in science and health throughout the state and nation.

A Completely Reimagined Experience

After careful consideration, Arizona Science Center will start welcoming visitors back on Saturday, June 20. For us, reopening is far from “business as usual.” We have been working to ensure that we are able to position the Science Center as a resource to help our community understand how to live, work, and manage social situations in the ongoing presence of COVID-19 and beyond.

In this way, we completely reimagined the Science Center experience. We will begin offering limited, small-group, all-inclusive ticketed Guided Experiences. This approach will allow for a rich, curated visit like never before. These Guided Experiences will be timed and will significantly restrict the number of visitors in the building at any one time to less than 5% of our total building capacity. This will help ensure proper social distancing between Guests and cleaning between groups, while still providing the opportunity to engage with science and experience the Center’s exhibits in entirely new ways.

Limited to 20 guests per group, our Guided Experiences center around popular science themes, from space to dinosaurs to the “science of Yuck”, among others.  Each experience will feature a “wow” factor, ranging from a personal, hands-on dissection to an in-depth visit and discussion of Victoria the T. rex.

Our Mission Is Our North Star

Our mission—to inspire, educate, and engage curious minds through science—positions us to educate the public on how to prepare, manage, and adapt to life through science. That means that, for now, we are responsible for helping the community live safely and productively with COVID-19. We take this mission seriously and have structured our reopening using data, science, and guidance from international, national, and local health experts and authorities. As an institution rooted in science, we know that we can and must set an example for how to responsibly live and interact with others, given our current circumstances.

We want to stimulate curiosity and inspire science learning in everyone—by creating fun, memorable experiences. When you visit, your experience will be rich in content. We will put an even greater emphasis on how to enjoy yourself while practicing proper social distancing, respiratory etiquette with face coverings, and hand hygiene. The entire Science Center team will model these practices for the public. The health and safety of our Guests and Team Members is a primary focus at Arizona Science Center, and we have developed plans and operational policies with that focus in mind.
