Safety Tips - Pool Safety You Can Practice This Summer
Arizona families have begun to enjoy the summer recreational activities with their children. To really enjoy these water activities, the safety of the children should be our primary concern.
If you own a pool, you have the additional legal responsibilities of making sure your family and your guests remain safe and uninjured. Here’s a list of common-sense safety rules that can help to protect you and your guests.
5 POOL SAFETY TIPS TO KEEP YOU AND YOUR FAMILY SAFE
1. Fence your pool, and Lock it up
A pool safety fence is the first step to protecting your children. Gates needs to be kept shut at all times and be locked.
2. Actively supervise near water
Make sure at least one adult is designated as the active supervisor of the children and guests. All it takes is someone turning their back for one second, and a child can slip underwater unnoticed.
3. Remove any temptations
Kids are tempted by bright objects and by their toys. If you have pool toys, keep out of sight where they can’t blow into the pool or keep them outside the pool fence area entirely.
4. Enroll children in swimming lessons at an early age
Teach children basic water safety tips and enroll them in swimming lessons.
5. Learn CPR
Learn to perform CPR on children and adults, and update those skills regularly.
By taking some precautions and always keeping kids' safety top of mind, there's no reason you and your family can't enjoy the Arizona hot days of summer in a cool backyard pool.
