Drive-In Movies are Popping Up Around the Valley

Movie theaters and other attractions remain closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but drive-in movies have popped up across the Valley in recent weeks. 

Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, Schnepf Farms, Yam Properties, and a group of entrepreneurs, have all opened pop-up drive-ins in the Valley.

FAIRMONT SCOTTSDALE PRINCESS



Enjoy a night out at the movies in the comfort and safety of your vehicle! Friday’s and Saturday’s at the Princess for family-favorites on a giant, inflatable screen. All proceeds help to provide hot meals twice a week to Princess employees and their families during this unprecedented time.

MOONLIGHT MOVIE NIGHT AT SONORA VILLAGE



Moonlight Movie Night supports local restaurants! Order $20+ in takeout from a qualifying nearby restaurant (complete list found on website) and you'll receive a full reimbursement on your movie ticket AND window-side service!

THE DRIVE-IN AT SCHNEPF FARMS



For $15 per car, you can attend a themed movie night at Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek.

"The old fashioned drive-in movies will feature some of your all time favorite movies and the good ole classics, according to their website.

Tickets for specific days can be purchased on the Schnepf website, but films will not be announced in advance. There are no refunds, but there is a Facebook group where customers can exchange tickets.

DIGITAL DRIVE-IN AZ 


The Valley's newest drive-in experience will located in Mesa, AZ.

It's recommended that you arrive 30 minutes before the show starts.
There are restrooms, but you must bring your own food and drinks. Attendees are allowed to sit in chairs next to their cars but must maintain a minimum of 6 feet away from others.

WEST WIND DRIVE-IN AND PUBLIC MARKET



The West Wind Glendale Drive-In is the last remaining true drive-in theater in the Phoenix area that screens first-run movies, the same movies screened at movie theaters.

Gates open at 7 p.m. and movies are currently scheduled to begin at 7:40 p.m. Admission is $7.75 and $1.75 for kids, aged 4-11. 

People are not allowed to stand, sit, or otherwise be outside the vehicle. Restrooms are open, but limited to a certain amount of people. The theater is located at 5605 N. 55th Avenue Glendale AZ 85301, near Montebello and 55 avenues.

All are following the same social distancing guidelines: people must remain in their vehicles the entire time, unless to use the bathroom (if there is one on-site). People are not allowed to hang out outside their vehicle and vehicles will be more than six feet from one another.

NOTE: Always check with the venue or host before attending any event. Cancellations can happen at any time due to weather, low registration or other circumstances.
