For many, Easter is a time to celebrate faith and family while enjoying cooler spring weather before the hottest of Arizona summer heat. During this outbreak and social distancing measures, this Easter will be a little different for many families. I have compiled suggested activities to make it a little easier to enjoy Easter with your loved ones.
Participate an Online Church Service – Many churches are streaming their services for everyone to enjoy virtually. If your family tradition is attending church to celebrate Easter, have the family tune into your church’s online service from your own home.
Create Your Own Dye for Easter Eggs – No need to run out your grocery store for a dye kit. You can make your own dye at home with what you already have in your pantry. All you need are eggs, vinegar and food coloring to make beautiful Easter eggs with your family.
Support Local Businesses for your Easter Basket Goodies – While the easiest way to provide an Easter basket is to pick up a pre-made one from the store, this year it is especially important to support small, local businesses. Get creative with your basket, stuffing it with locally sourced items. Reach out to your favorite local business to see if they are accepting orders via phone for pick up or delivery.
Decorate your home - Creating simple Easter-themed decorations is a fun activity and placing them all around the house will instantly brighten the mood.
Arrange a special visit for the Easter Bunny - Many local small businesses such as Storybook Entertainment are renting out party rentals offers contactless visits from your child's favourite characters including the Easter Bunny.
Order in for Easter - If you typically go out for Easter brunch or dinner—or head to Grandma’s for her Easter specialties—don’t take it upon yourself to cook a multi-course meal. Consider supporting local businesses. Call around to see if any restaurants are offering a to-go or delivery special for Easter meals.
Connect with your Family and Friends - If you typically go out for Easter with family and friends consider still connecting with them through technology: Zoom, FaceTime or Facebook Messenging.
