This past Tuesday, we took the drive to Dewey-Humboldt, AZ to attend the Pumpkin Fest & Corn Maze at Mortimer Farms and had a family filled fun day!
Dewey-Humboldt is a little over an hour north of Phoenix and makes for a nice day trip out of the city. The Mortimer Family opened the farm in 2010 after the popular Young's Farm closed down farm operations and they have done a great job of keeping the farm spirit alive in this small Arizona town.
Mortimer Family Farms boasts 300 acres of farmland withtwo major annual events- the Sweet Corn Festival and the Pumpkin Fest and Corn Maze.
We had a filled day with fun for everyone in the family; from hay rides, zip line, petting zoo, the 15 acre pumpkin patch and a 25 acre corn maze AND so much more inspired rides. The kids enjoyed being able to visit with goats and chickens - and seeing a variety of veggies being grown and harvested for the Harvest Meal and to stock the farm store.
We enjoyed the “Redneck swings” and “Redneck Carousel”, my kids loved it and all the other farm inspired rides. Right next to it was the zip line, which the kids were on it over and over again! Outdoor fun for all is what’s worth it and Mortimer Farms had so much fun for all.
The festival had a great small town vibe. It was nice and relaxing, good family fun activities for all to enjoy. Arizona has some great little drives outside of the valley, and this was definitely worth it!
